Fitness is a lifestyle, not a fashion trend. Being fit is so much more than acquiring a Fit and Hot Body. Yes, having a Fit, hot body is motivation in and of itself, and may even be your fuel as of right now in embarking or staying committed to your workouts. I, myself find that having an athletic streamlined physique is a definite perk, but it is not my number one focus when I train myself or coach my clients and students.

Fitness begins in the mind and slowly moves outward towards the physical. Being fit is as much a state of mind, as it is physical. Being fit means you are addressing all three levels of the self MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT and reshaping them. Your quality of life is highly improved when you are fit and healthy... but the real work consists in remaining consistent and focused daily. Thinking Fit, living fit and being fit is about changing your perspective and how you may feel about exercise and your body.

Notice I said changing your perspective…which means changing your mind or reprogramming it to believe, breathe and think healthy each and every day. This thought process takes patience and requires consistent and daily practice.

Thinking, Living and Being Fit go hand in hand in attaining a fit and healthy body from the inside-out.

In my 17 year career in physical fitness and being regarded as a fitness guru or fitness expert, I have found that the biggest challenge or battle in embarking and maintaining a healthy weight and physique, begins and ends in your mind. Learn to paint mental pictures of what being fit feels like, tastes like, looks like.

This is called visual imagery and we have been using this method for centuries on our athletes in competitive training. If you want to be a champion, you must think like a champion. Get your mind engaged and your body will follow. Being fit begins with your thoughts, so practice, practice, practice. Repetition is the mother of skill. Use visual imagery as a catalyst for reprogramming your mind to wellness and to action. Stay consistent and remain focused on your goal.
